Originally outmoded and dilapidated, we converted this holiday home into a little gem on the Garden Route. The internal layout has been re-designed, front- and back patios with braai areas created, and the attic converted into the main bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The dwelling is freshly finished and kitchen and bathrooms re-designed and fitted. Only natural materials were used, to ensure that the dwelling blends in with the environment. The interior is rustic, yet comfortable with soft linens, rich cottons, jute rugs and Nguni skins. Décor was kept to a minimum and an honest approach taken in selecting pieces, with the focus on the antique Indian ceiling above the indoor fireplace. With Boggomsbaai’s beautiful weather all year round, design focus was equally divided between outdoor patios and indoor living spaces.
